President Javier Milei attended the Fundación Libertad Annual Dinner last Monday, where he spoke before government officials, business leaders, and leaders from the ruling party and the PRO. Representing the government were the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei; the Chief of Staff, Manuel Adorni; and the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem. In his speech, he noted that the fiscal adjustment amounted to nearly five percentage points of GDP and that the size of the national public sector stands at around 15% of GDP. He also pointed out that the government reduced more than 20 taxes and eliminated others, and maintained that fiscal balance is the foundation of the economic program. He further stated that annual inflation fell from 211.4% to 31.5%. At the same time, he stated that the government will not alter its economic course in light of the latest monthly inflation data. The following day, Tuesday, Milei led the debate “Keynes and the General Theory” at the Palacio Libertad, alongside economist Juan Carlos de Pablo and Congressman Adrián Ravier. He questioned the foundations of Keynesian theory and noted that the recent rise in inflation was due to a decline in the demand for money during the second half of 2025. On the same day, he criticized the immigration policies of some European countries. The event brought together ministers and legislators from the ruling party.
